BILLINGS, MT – The Montana State-Billings volleyball needed just 55 minutes Friday night to wrap up a three-game sweep of visiting Oklahoma Panhandle State on Senior Night at Alterowitz Gym.  The Yellowjackets remained perfect in the Heartland Conference at 7-0 and pushed their overall record to 20-4.  The Aggies fell to 0-5 in the conference and 2-26 overall.

The Yellowjackets overwhelmed the Aggies from the start and never trailed in the match, winning 30-10, 30-14, 30-13.  MSUB had a blistering .400 team attack percentage for the match, including percentages above .500 in the first and third games.  The Aggies, meanwhile, had just one player with a positive attack percentage and hit -.087 for the night.

The Jackets’ Jessica Bratton (Casper, WY) led all players with 14 kills on a .400 attack percentage.  Alicia Cazemier (Vauxhall, AB) added 13 kills with just two errors for a .550 attack percentage.  Cazemier was also in on four blocks.  Ali Watson (Calgary, AB) added nine kills on a .400 attack percentage, and Jessica Lechner (Pompeys Pillar, MT) finished with eight kills on a .583 percentage.  In all, eight different Yellowjackets recorded kills in the match.

Natalie Bills (Provo, UT) handed out 41 assists to go with seven digs.  Watson, Alexis Sandru (Twin Bridges, MT) and Nicole Kruse (Huntley, MT) each had nine digs apiece.  Taylor Faught (Billings, MT) punched in four of the Jackets’ 13 service aces.  Bills had three aces, and Kruse and Jill Trabing (Buffalo, WY) each had two.

The Aggies were led by four kills from Amber McKinney.  Cheryl Coldwell had 13 digs to lead the OPSU defense.  Alisa Byers had three solo blocks.

The Yellowjackets and Aggies will meet again at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday in MSUB’s final home match of the regular season.  They will close out the season with two matches at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX, next weekend before hosting the Heartland Conference Championship Tournament at Alterowitz Gym on November 3 and 4.
