Chinook Runner Signs with Jackets (May 5, 2005)

BILLINGS, MT – Montana State-Billings cross-country coach Dave Coppock announced Thursday that Matthew Roseberry has signed a national letter of intent to run for the Yellowjackets next fall.

Roseberry is a native of Chinook, Mont., and graduated from Chinook High School in 2003.  He attended college at Montana State-Northern for the last two years.  He was a three sport letter winner at Chinook HS, lettering three times in football, twice in basketball, and four times in track.

Roseberry was the Sugarbeaters’ track MVP in 2001 and 2002.  He received the team’s most inspirational award in 2003.  At the 2003 State A track meet, he placed second in the 800 meters with a time of 1:58.86.  In addition to his track honors, Roseberry was the defensive MVP as a senior in both football and basketball.

The Yellowjackets will compete in the Heartland Conference next season.  In addition to their five regular season races, they will compete at the Heartland Conference Championships in Dallas and at the NCAA Southwest Regional in Abilene, TX.
