Lady Yellowjackets Sweep Rocky Again (Oct. 20, 2004)
Box Score

BILLINGS, MT – The Montana State-Billings volleyball team completed the season sweep of cross-town rival Rocky Mountain College in convincing fashion on Wednesday night.  The Yellowjackets out-hit the Bears .339 to .091 en route to a quick sweep, 30-23, 30-17, 30-24.  MSU Billings improved to 11-8 overall, dropping Rocky to 9-14.

The Jackets swept the Bears at Rocky on September 21, holding them to just a .010 team hitting percentage.  Wednesday’s match was more of the same as the Yellowjacket offense operated at an efficient pace.

Setter Natalie Bills (So., Provo, UT) handed out a match-high 46 assists to guide the Yellowjackets to their third-best hitting night of the season.  Two of the Jackets’ top three single match hitting percentages this season have come against the Bears.

Olivia Munro (Sr., Toronto, Ontario) posted her seventeenth double-double of the season with match highs for kills (18) and digs (14).  She had only five attack errors on 46 attempts for a .283 attack percentage.

Ranked eighth in the nation for hitting percentage, senior Andrea Donahue (Whitefish, MT) had another solid outing with 10 kills on 15 attempts with only two errors.  Her .533 hitting percentage for the match was the best of any player with more than five attempts.  She is now hitting .419 for the season.  Donahue was also in on four blocks in the match.

Jessica Bratton (So., Casper, WY) knocked down 13 kills for MSUB, posting a .259 hitting percentage on 27 attempts.  Alicia Cazemier (Fr., Vauxhall, Alberta) added seven kills and two blocks for the Jackets.  Kari Jones (Sr., Hermiston, OR) finished with five kills on five attempts without an error.

The Bears were led by six kills from Megan Longenecker, although she hit only .080 with four errors in her 25 attempts.  Courtney Arthun added five kills on 23 attempts with four errors (.043).  Libero Jen Buening finished with 11 digs.

The Yellowjackets return to PacWest Conference play next Monday and Tuesday when they host 25th-ranked Chaminade University.  The Silverswords are currently tied atop the PacWest standings with 14th-ranked Hawaii Pacific.
