Yellowjackets Fall to Seasiders in Three (Oct. 9, 2004)
Box Score

BILLINGS, MT – Just a night after a quick sweep of BYU-Hawaii, the Montana State-Yellowjackets suffered a 3-0 loss of its own on Saturday.  The Seasiders led all but eight points in the entire match and out-hit the Yellowjackets .231 to .127.  The loss dropped MSU Billings to 10-6 overall while BYU-Hawaii improved to 8-7, winning 30-23, 30-21, 30-27.

There appeared to be two different teams on the floor Saturday night.  The Seasiders’ defense was able to pick up a lot of balls that the Yellowjackets had put down for kills the night before.  MSU Billings hit .116 in the first game, .019 in the second game and .282 in the third.

Andrea Donahue (Sr., Whitefish, MT) and Alicia Cazemier (Vauxhall, Alberta) were the only Yellowjackets to hit over .100 for the match.  Donahue had 10 kills with three errors on 21 attempts for a .333 hitting percentage.  Cazemier finished with seven kills with three errors on 21 attempts for a .190 percentage.  She also had three blocks.

Olivia Munro (Sr., Toronto, Ontario) finished with another double-double with 14 kills and 13 digs.  Alberta Letoa (So., Laie, HI) had a match-high 14 digs.  Natalie Bills (So., Provo, UT) handed out a match-high 40 assists.

Along with playing better back row defense than they did the night before, the Seasiders out-blocked the Yellowjackets 11-5.  Lilly Tufuga and Yu Chuan Weng were each in on four blocks.  Weng led all players with 15 kills and added seven digs.  Beth Robertson had a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs.

MSU Billings resumes its nine-match home stand next weekend when the Yellowjackets host eighth-ranked Hawaii Pacific on October 15 and 16.  Both matches begin at 7:00 p.m.
