Yellowjacket Men Play at Gonzaga on Saturday (Sept. 10, 2004)

BILLINGS, MT – The Montana State-Billings men’s soccer team will travel to Spokane for a Saturday match up with Division I Gonzaga.  Live Gametracker play by play of the game can be viewed on the internet at www.gozags.com.  The game kicks off at 2:00 p.m. PDT, 3:00 p.m. MDT.

The Yellowjackets are 3-3 after defeating Colorado-Colorado Springs, 3-2, last weekend.  MSU Billings jumped to a 3-0 lead midway through the second half and held off the Mountain Lions to stop a two game losing streak.  Thomas Pertuit (Sr., MF, Billings, MT) scored his team-leading sixth goal and added an assist for his thirteenth point of the year.  Brian Palmer (Sr., F., Laramie, WY) scored a pair of goals, including the game winner, and is second on the team with seven points this season.

Jess Feldtman (Jr., GK, Lander, WY) has played all 540 minutes in goal for the Yellowjackets.  He has a 2.17 goals against average after allowing 13 goals.  Feldtman has made 33 saves entering this weekend with a save percentage of .717.

The Zags are 1-2 following a 3-1 win over Sacramento State on Monday.  The three goals were the Zags’ first of the year after being shutout in their first two matches.  Arni Pjetursson scored two of Gonzaga’s goals in the win over Sac State.

Saturday’s game at Gonzaga will be the first of five straight road contests for the Yellowjackets.  They next play at University of Mary on September 18.  MSU Billings doesn’t play in Billings again until October 2 and 3 when the Jackets host Colorado School of Mines and Westminster College in a three team tournament.
