Lady Jackets Slip in Final Rounds at Western Washington (Oct. 12, 2004)
BELLINGHAM, WA – The Montana
State-Billings women’s golf team fell to tenth place after
the final two rounds at the Western Washington
Invitational on Tuesday. The Lady Jackets shot their best
round of the weekend in the third round, but it wasn’t
enough to lift them out of last place.
Halley Montalban (Fr., Billings, MT)
was the Yellowjackets’ top individual with a 48-over 267.
That was good enough for a tie for 38th place.
Montalban carded rounds of 89, 91 and 87. Julie Clifford
(Jr., Forsyth, MT) placed in a tie for 45th place with a 55-over 274. She finished with rounds of 93,
93 and 88.
Host Western Washington won the team
title with a 943. Central Oklahoma took second with a
949. Western’s Katja Trygg captured individual honors
with a 1-over 220.
MSU Billings completes its fall
schedule on October 25 and 26 at the Cal State-Monterey
Bay in Seaside, Calif.
