Yellowjacket Baseball Signs MCC Transfer (May 5, 2005)

BILLINGS, MT – Montana State-Billings baseball coach Chris Brown announced Thursday that Doug Longfellow has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Yellowjackets next season.  Longfellow is a native of Lewistown, Mont., and played two seasons at Miles Community College.  Brown has now signed seven transfers from MCC this spring.

“We are very excited to have Doug sign with the Yellowjacket Baseball program,” said Brown.  “He gives us an outfielder with very good range, above average speed, a strong arm, and a good head for the game.  Offensively he has batted in the 1 or 2 hole and has a penchant for getting on base.  Doug is a good student and good person that will make positive contributions to our team on and off the field.”

Longfellow, a 5-foot-11 outfielder, is a 2003 graduate of Fergus County High School where he was a three sport letter winner.  He was a football and basketball team MVP for the Eagles and played Legion baseball for the Lewistown Redbirds.  Longfellow is currently finishing his sophomore season at MCC.
