Yellowjacket Softball Hosts Dawson CC in Saturday Double-Header (Oct. 8, 2003)

BILLINGS, MT – The MSU Billings softball team will hold its first home games of the fall schedule this Saturday when the Yellowjackets host Dawson Community College at Cenex Stadium.  Games for the exhibition double-header are scheduled to start at 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.

The Yellowjackets and Buccaneers met for a pair of games last weekend in Glendive, with MSUB registering wins of 11-0 and 6-2.  Megan McCrae (Jr., Brandon, Manitoba) and Joey Ehnes (Jr., Great Falls, MT) earned the wins on the mound.  McCrae tossed three shutout innings in the first game, striking out five and allowing two hits.  Ehnes allowed two hits in five innings of work while striking out six.

The Yellowjackets feature six players who earned All-Pacific West Conference honors a year ago.  Along with McCrae and Ehnes,  Stephanie Cochrun (Jr., Lake Stevens, WA), Layne Pavey (Jr., Spokane, WA) Theresa Campbell (Jr., Great Falls, MT) and Terilee Ehnes (Sr., Great Falls, MT) were named to the PacWest all-conference teams.  Eleven of the sixteen players on the Yellowjackets’ roster this fall return from last year’s squad.
