2009-2010 Yellowjackets of the Week
Sam Charles (Men's Soccer, Aug. 31, 2009) - Charles scored three goals and tallied two assists on the weekend in a pair of shutout victories for the Yellowjackets over Colorado Christian (6-0) and University of Great Falls (4-0). The record-setting performance came against UGF as Charles broke the GNAC career goal record with his 41st goal since MSUB has been in the league.
The previous best (40) was set by Bobby McAlister of Seattle University (2002-2005). Charles also tied McAlister for the career points record with 93. MSUB was in the Heartland Conference Charles’ freshman year where he scored seven goals and two assists, however the GNAC only recognizes records during the time MSUB has been in the league.
Charles was named GNAC Player of the Week this week as well.
