Montana State University Billings has fielded a
tennis team every year since 1968. In the
last four years the program has grown tremendously
in numbers. This includes the number of
student-athletes and number of matches. The
goal of the program is to bring in players that
are dedicated to academics and interested in
improving their tennis skills.
Montana
State University Billings is a member of the
Pacific West Conference. the conference is
made up of 6 schools.
Last
season marked the first time the PacWest held a
conference tennis championship. BYU-Hawaii,
the eventual national champion, hosted the event.
In 2002-2003, MSU Billings hosted the Pacific
West Conference Tennis Championships in Billings.
Billings tennis fans were able to watch the
eventual NCAA National Champions for both men and
women and BYU-Hawaii went on from Billings to
capture the crowns. In 2004 and 2005, the
Yellowjackets will travel to Hawaii for the
PacWest Conference Championships.
