KEVIN WOODIN (2nd Year)
Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

Kevin Woodin begins his second season as an assistant coach for the Yellowjackets in 2001-2002.  Woodin's responsibilities include game and practice planning, recruiting and scouting.

Woodin spent seven years (1987-1994) as a mathematics teacher and basketball coach at O'Dea High School in Seattle, Washington.  While at O'Dea, his freshman, sophomore, and junior varsity teams posted a 90%+ winning percentage.  He also served as the varsity defensive coordinator for O'Dea's 1993 State AA Championship football team.  In addition, Woodin was selected as O'Dea's Teacher of the Year for the 1992-1993 school year.

Woodin is currently a mathematics teacher and varsity girls basketball coach at Billings West High School.  He recently finished his eighth year as coach of the Golden Bears and has registered five consecutive winning seasons.  In 1998 and 2001, Woodin was a finalist for the Montana Coaches Association girl's basketball Class AA Coach of the Year award.

In 2001, jWoodin guided the Golden Bears to their first-ever girl's Class AA basketball championship game.  West's young team took home the second place trophy after dropping the championship game to Flathead High School.  With a large number of players returning next year, Wooding and the Bears will try to become the first Billings School to ever win a Class AA girl's basketball title.

A 1982 graduate of Libby Senior High School in Libby, Montana, Woodin earned his bachelor's degree from Carroll College in 1987, majoring in mathematics and minoring in physical education.  He received his master's degree in athletic administration from Seattle Pacific University in 1993.  Woodin is a member of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and the Montana Coaches Association.

Woodin and his wife Paula Roos have been married for over 14 years and have three children, Kayleen, 8; Toria, 5; and Garrett, 3.  Paula is an anesthesiologist at Deaconess Medical Center in Billings.

Woodin's hobbies include spending time with family, golfing, walking, and reading.
