Student-Athlete Scholarships
In addition to the regular athletic
scholarships each Yellowjacket team has available to
offer to new and returning student-athletes, Montana State University-Billings
awards a number of additional endowed scholarships to returning
student-athletes each year. To apply for any of
the scholarships listed below, complete the general
MSU Billings scholarship application form (download
here) and return it to the Office of Financial Aid
and Scholarship. The deadline for submitting
scholarship applications is February 1.
Athletic Endowed Scholarship
Award: $1,000.
Scholarship awards are based on athletics participation,
grade point average, and need as determined by
Intercollegiate Athletics.
Frances S. Barker Endowed
Scholarship
Award: $1,000 (three scholarships
awarded). Recipients must meet the
following criteria: full time enrolled student; definite
financial need; and 3.0 cumulative grade point average
or higher. Preference will be given to
student-athletes.
Dick Edwards Memorial Endowed
Scholarship
Award: $1,000.
Scholarship awards are based on athletics participation,
grade point average, and need as determined by
Intercollegiate Athletics.
Paul and Patti Gunville
Athletic Scholarship Endowment
Award: $1,000 (four scholarships
awarded). Recipients must be a
student-athlete involved in one of the following sports
at MSU Billings: golf, soccer, cross-country, or
softball.
Men's Basketball Endowed
Scholarship
Award: $750.
Scholarship awards are based on participation in men's
basketball, grade point average, and need as determined
by Intercollegiate Athletics.
Brent Montague Merit
Scholarship
Award: $1,000. Available
to a student-athlete who has exhausted his or her
athletic eligibility. Must have a 2.5 cumulative
grade point average or higher, need 32 credits or fewer
to graduate, and demonstrate outstanding citizenship
qualities.
PPL Montana Women's Softball
Endowment
Award: $650.
Scholarship awards are based on participation in women's
softball, grade point average, and need as determined by
Intercollegiate Athletics.
