Glendive Product Kalli Stanhope Inks with Yellowjackets in Two Sports

BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State Billings women’s basketball and women’s golf coach Kevin Woodin announced Thursday that Kalli Stanhope will play women’s basketball and golf for the Yellowjackets beginning this fall.

“I am very excited to have Kalli as a Yellowjacket,” Woodin said.  “She is a tremendously skilled basketball player and has the ability to play both the point and shooting guard positions.  She comes from a great high school program and she is very fundamentally sound.  In addition, she is a great golfer and will make an immediate impact on our team.”

Stanhope, a native of Glendive, Mont., is a three-time first team all-state Class A basketball player who helped her team to the Eastern A divisional championship and a runner-up finish at the 2008 State A Girl’s basketball tournament.  During her senior year, she averaged 15.2 points, three assists and two steals per game.  Stanhope shot 42 percent from beyond the arc and 81 percent from the charity stripe.

In addition to her talent on the court, Stanhope also excels on the golf course as well.  She is a two-time individual Eastern A medalist in golf and was the State A medalist this season.  In her 10 tournaments this season, she posted seven firsts and had an 18-hole scoring average of 81.
