SANDAU EARNS NSCAA/ADIDAS ALL-REGION FIRST TEAM ACCOLADES

BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State Billings women’s soccer standout Brittney Sandau was selected to the NSCAA/adidas All-Far West Region first team.  Sandau is just the second Yellowjacket to earn all-region honors and the school’s first, first team selection. 

In addition to Sandau, former Lady Jacket standout and current women’s assistant coach, Ally Taylor/Stroup, earned second team honors in 2003 and third team honors in 2006.

Sandau, a forward from Billings, Mont., tied for the team lead in goals with seven, while leading the team with five assists and 19 points.  The senior forward played and started in 13 games, before suffering a season-ending injury against Seattle University Oct. 6.

Finishing her career as one of the most prolific scorers in MSUB history, Sandau was named Most Valuable Player for 2007, finished ranked second in career points (76), career assists (22), career starts (69) and games played (70).  In addition, with her seven goals this season Sandau moved into fourth in the school’s annals in career goals with 27.   

The Lady Jackets finished the 2007 season with a 9-10-1 record and a 5-8-1 record in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference good for fourth place in the league. 

The GNAC had eight of the 11 players on the first team, including six players from Seattle Pacific and two from Seattle University.
