OMAHA, Neb. – The Montana State Billings
men’s basketball team was defeated 89-68 by the St. Cloud State
Huskies Friday night in a neutral game at the University of
Nebraska-Omaha Thanksgiving Tournament. The Yellowjackets
remain winless at 0-4, while the Huskies improve to 3-0.
Four Yellowjackets scored in double figures
and were led by
Aaron
Terry’s (Moreno Valley, Calif.) career-high 21 points.
Terry was 8-of-20 from the floor and grabbed seven rebounds.
Troy Ruff
(Custer) netted 12 points and scored a team-high three
3-pointers for the Jackets.
Cameron Khoury (Alta Loma, Calif.) had the lone
double-double in the game with a career-high 10 points and 10
rebounds.
Kirk
Blaine (Gillette, Wyo.) added 10 points, also a career-high.
The Yellowjackets were 20-of-61 from the
field for 33 percent and 7-of-23 from long range for 30
percent. MSUB struggled from the charity stripe connecting on
just 21-of-34 attempts for 62 percent.
The Huskies’ David Dreas scored a game-high
25 points shooting 10-of-14 from the field and 3-of-6 from the
perimeter. Dreas also grabbed a team-high nine boards. Jesse
Fisher and Spencer Bartz netted 15 and 11 points respectively.
Bartz had a game-high six steals.
As a team St. Cloud was 37-of-85 from the
floor for 44 percent, 7-of-23 from long range for 30 percent and
were a dismal 8-of-16 from the free throw line. The team
out-rebounded the Yellowjackets 55-44.
The Yellowjackets face the host team
University of Nebraska-Omaha Saturday with tip off scheduled for
8:00 p.m. CST.
