Jacket Cross County to Compete in Regional Championships (11/2/06)

BILLINGS, MT – The MSUB men’s and women’s cross-country teams will be traveling to Warrensburg, MO to compete in the NCAA South Central Region Championships on Saturday.  The meet, scheduled to run on November 4th, will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the men’s 10k race.  The women are to follow with a 6k race at 11:15 a.m.

The Yellowjacket women will be among the 24 teams competing at the Keith Memorial Golf Course in Pertle Springs Park, which is located near the University of Central Missouri’s main campus.  MSUB’s women fought their way into regional rankings two weeks ago by winning the Heartland Conference Championship and they currently hold the 10th spot in the South Central.  Preseason favorite Abilene Christian University has held their No. 1 ranking throughout the year and enters the regional ranked first.

The Jacket men will face off against 19 other teams on Saturday.  Again, among the competing teams is top ranked Abilene Christian, whose men’s team has also held its regional-best position all season.

MSUB Women: Kristy Burns, Colleen Dalimata, Cierra Dornfeld, Kym Island, Kisa Kron, Teri Lea McCormick, Erin Mueller, Tiffany Piplica, Crystal Roseberry

MSUB Men: Abram Hagstrom, Joe Kragt, Jarred Rensvold, Matt Roseberry, Andy Zoeller
