Lady Jacket Tennis Opens Season in Utah (1/29/07)

BILLINGS, MT – The Montana State-Billings Lady Jacket tennis team will begin their spring schedule with a trip to the University of Utah on February 1.  MSUB will also take on Boise State while in Salt Lake City. The weekend marks the first of many non-conference opponents for the Yellowjackets, who will play their first Heartland opponent at the conference tournament at the conclusion of the season.

Returning to the women’s team from the 2005-2006 season are juniors Marta Borges and Heidi Lehman.  Also returning is sophomore Victoria Fernandez and the team’s only senior Brianne Roney.  Molly McAlpine, a freshman walk-on from Helena, MT, is joined by Jenna Baltrusch, Christine Bauer, Jerrelynn Whitmus, and Stacy Dix in their first year with MSUB. 

The Yellowjacket men’s team will open their spring schedule on the road at Lewiston, ID when they take on Lewis and Clark State College on February 9.  That match will be followed by contests with Whitworth College and University of Idaho.
