Lady Jacket Tennis Tops Metro State (3/7/07)

DENVER, CO – The Montana State-Billings women’s tennis team bounced back from a 2-1 deficit after doubles play to defeat Metro State 6-3 on Wednesday.  The Yellowjackets earned singles wins from Heidi Lehman at No. 1, Marta Borges at No. 3, Molly McAlpine at No. 4, Victoria Hernandez at No. 5, and Stacy Dix at No. 6.  Lehman and Brianne Roney won the Jackets’ lone doubles point at No. 1.

The Yellowjacket men fell to the Roadrunners 7-2.  Metro State won all three doubles matches and closed out the match with singles wins at Nos. 3-6.  The Jackets’ two wins came from Tytus Stempniewicz at No. 1 and Phillippe Andermatt at No. 2.  Both Yellowjacket teams are scheduled to play at Mesa State on Thursday.
