Jackets Fall to Rocky at Collegiate Cup

BILLINGS, MT – The Yellowjacket
men’s golf team fell to Rocky Mountain College in the
second day of the annual Collegiate Cup held at Peter
Yegen Golf Course. With nearly every match coming down
to the last hole in singles play, Rocky bested MSUB 8-3.
Jacket senior Nate Redfern took his
match against Rocky’s Bjorn Ottosson, 1-up. MSUB’s
Brian Lytle also won his match against Brian Pfiffer,
1-up. MSUB’s Mike Rider and RMC’s Kevin Oden kept with
each other the entire way and finished the day even.
Jacket junior Jason Kinsey also ended his day even with
RMC’s Cody Salib. Jay Galt of Rocky defeated Kruise
Kemp, 4-2. MSUB’s Zach Ables, Michael Conrad, Jeff
Allen, Travis Gates, Mike Watson, and Tyler Nickolas
each took their matches down to the wire, but fell short
1-up.
The Yellowjackets ended the day
with seven losses and two wins, and two matches finished
even. The men’s team is
gearing up for their last invitational, held on October
16 and 17 in San Antonio, Texas. They will be competing
in the St. Mary's Invitational to close out the fall
season. The team will consist of Zach Abels, Michael
Konrad, Mike Rider, Nate Redfern, and Jason Kinsey.
