MSUB’s McNally to Host NSCAA Course (5/18/07)

BILLINGS, MT – Montana State University Billings men’s soccer coach Dan McNally will host a National Soccer Coaches Association of America Regional Soccer Coaching Diploma on July 7 and 8 in Billings.  McNally was recently appointed as the NSCAA Montana State Technical Coordinator.

“The opportunity to work with soccer coaches at all levels in Montana will bring positive exposure to the men’s soccer program at MSU Billings and also improve the overall standard of soccer coaching in the state,” said McNally.  “I am looking forward to working with as many Montana soccer coaches as possible during the courses.”

The two-day course will be held at the soccer field at Rocky Mountain College.  The Regional Diploma is a 13-hour course designed for the coach working with players 11 to 18 years of age. An emphasis is placed on learning to work with the developing player within both an individual and team concept.  The curriculum outlines how technical and tactical concepts can be applied in the development of players. The focus is placed on the basic methods of coaching, teaching proper technique, the theory and application of offensive and defensive tactics, and understanding team management.

The cost of the course is $70.  All candidates must be at least 16 years of age at the time of application.  If a candidate is under 18 years of age, an adult must accompany him or her for the duration of the course.  For more information, contact McNally at 406-896-5904 or dmcnally@msubillings.edu.  The application form can be downloaded here.
