NCAA Announces Final Men’s Basketball Stats Leaders (3/28/07)

BILLINGS, MT – The NCAA has released the final statistical leaders for the 2006-2007 Division II men’s basketball season.  Montana State-Billings ranked twelfth in the nation for 3-point field goals made per game. 

The Yellowjackets, perennial national leaders in 3-point shooting, averaged 9.4 made 3-pointers per game.  Fairmont State (WV) led the nation with an average of 10.6 made threes per game.  MSUB was 6-21 overall in 2006-2007 and finished fifth in the Heartland Conference.

MSU Billings has been the national NCAA Division II statistical champion for 3-point shooting seven times, capturing the title in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, and 2006.  The Yellowjackets were also the national NCAA Division II scoring leader in 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003.  West Liberty State (WV), one of the Jackets’ early season opponents, was the 2007 Division II national scoring champion at 98.7 points per game.
