Yellowjacket Soccer Teams Host North Idaho Saturday (8/18/05)

BILLINGS, MT – The Montana State-Billings soccer teams will host North Idaho College in an exhibition doubleheader on Saturday.  Kick off for the women’s game is set for 1:00 p.m. at the MSU Billings College of Technology.  The men’s game will follow at 3:30 p.m.  Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors.

Following Saturday's games the Yellowjacket soccer teams will host a pizza party at Alterowitz Gym for booster club members, players' families and friends.  The party starts at 7:00 p.m. in the main lobby of the P.E. Building.

North Idaho is a junior college in Coeur d’Alene, ID.  The Cardinals men were 10-5-3 last season and qualified for the NWACC playoffs.  They have 14 players from Montana listed on the roster, including Ryan Allen (Skyview HS) and Ian Songer (Senior HS) of Billings.  The Lady Cardinals were 9-10-1 last year.

The Lady Yellowjackets open the regular season next week with a three-game swing through Colorado.  They play at Colorado State-Pueblo on August 26, at Fort Lewis College on August 28, and at Mesa State on August 30.  The Jackets’ will have their traditional Labor Day weekend home opener when they host Adams State and St. Mary’s in the Fourth Annual MSU Billings Cup on September 3-5.

The Yellowjacket men also begin the regular season in Colorado next week.  They will play at Metropolitan State in Denver on August 26 and at Colorado School of Mines on August 28.  The Jackets have three road trips totaling eight games before they open at home.  On September 21 MSU Billings will host Heartland Conference opponent Incarnate Word, which is ranked fifth nationally in the preseason.
