Larson Leads Jacket Men in Texas

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Nicholas Larson placed 36th at the
weather-shortened St. Mary's Invitational to lead the
Montana State-Billings men's golf team. The
sophomore from Riverton, WY shot rounds of 75 and 74 on
Monday for a five-over 149. Tuesday's final round
was cancelled because of severe weather.
Larson, who
qualified for the NCAA Super Regional last year as a
freshman, was one of only two Yellowjackets to shoot below
80 in both rounds. Zach Abels (So., Twin Falls, ID)
shot 76 in both rounds to finish in a tie for 54th place
with an eight-over 152.
MSU Billings
placed fourteenth in the team standings. The
Yellowjackets struggled through both rounds, never
breaking 300 as a team. They finished with rounds of
312 and 306 for a two-round total of 618 (+42).
Central Oklahoma won the team event with a 10-under 566.
The Yellowjackets
are not scheduled to play again until the spring season
when they open at the St. Edward's Invitational in Austin
on February 27-28.
