Yellowjackets Place Four
on Volleyball All-Conference Teams (Nov. 15,
2004)
BILLINGS, MT – Following the first winning season in school
history, the Montana State-Billings volleyball team had three
players earn all-conference honors in voting by Pacific West
Conference coaches on Monday. Olivia Munro was named to the second team for the second year in a row. Andrea Donahue was also named to the second team. Jessica Bratton and Natalie Bills each earned honorable mention honors.
Munro,
a senior from Toronto, ranked fifth in the league for kills and
second for digs. She broke the school career kills record this
year, finishing with 1,288. Munro is the only player in school
history with over 1,200 kills and over 1,200 digs. She had 1,348
digs for her career, second all-time.
Donahue, a senior from Whitefish, MT, became an immediate impact
player for the Yellowjackets after transferring from St. Olaf this
year. She ranked second in the conference for hitting percentage
and ninth for total blocks.
Bratton, a sophomore from Casper, WY, finished the season with
several strong matches to rank third in the PacWest for kills. In
the final four matches of the season, she knocked down a total of
102 kills.
Bills,
a sophomore from Provo, UT, ranked third in the conference for
assists in her first full season with the Yellowjackets. She also
ranked second in the PacWest for service aces per game and first
for total service aces.
Hawaii
Pacific’s Vera Oliveira was named the conference Player of the
Year. BYU-Hawaii’s Noelle Filimoeatu was chosen as the Freshman
of the Year. Hawaii Pacific and Chaminade each had five
all-conference selections. Both teams qualified for the NCAA
Tournament.
