Jacket Golf Adds Miles City Player (May 6, 2005)

BILLINGS, MT – Montana State-Billings head men’s golf coach Roger Burckley announced this week that Todd Stevenson of Miles City, Mont., has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Yellowjackets next year.  Stevenson will graduate from Custer County High School this spring.

A three time letterman, Stevenson earned all-conference and all-state honors as a senior for the Cowboys.  He placed third at the State A tournament, shooting rounds of 75 and 77.  As a junior he was named the team MVP.  Custer County HS placed second at the Eastern A Divisional this year and fourth in Stevenson’s sophomore season.

“I like the idea of competing at a higher level than what other colleges in Montana have to offer,” said Stevenson of his choosing MSU Billings.  “I look forward t improving my game.  MSU Billings has great practice facilities at Mitchell Golf and a great home course at The Briarwood.”

The Yellowjackets placed second at the Pacific West Conference championships behind University of Hawaii-Hilo.  The Vulcans have since gone on to the regional tournament where they qualified for the NCAA National Championships.  MSU Billings moves to the Heartland Conference next season.
