Jackets Second for Scoring, 3-Pointers (Mar. 1, 2005)

BILLINGS, MT – With just one week remaining in the regular season, Montana State-Billings ranks second in the nation for scoring and 3-point shooting.  The Yellowjackets finish their season on Thursday at Western New Mexico.

MSU Billings is averaging 93.8 points and 12.3 three-pointers per game.  Pfeiffer leads the nation in scoring at 95.1 ppg, and Oakland City is tops for 3-pointers at 12.6 per game.  The Yellowjackets are also ranked 19th for free throw percentage at 75.0 percent.  The final NCAA regular season stats rankings will be released next Tuesday, and the final rankings of the year will be posted after the NCAA II championship game at the end of March.

MSU Billings has two of the top six 3-point shooters in the country.  Cameron Munoz (Jr., Chino, CA) ranks third with an average of 4.3 made 3-pointers per game.  Buddy Windy Boy (Jr., Lodge Grass, MT) is sixth at 3.9.  Columbus State’s Yandel Brown leads the nation at 4.8 per game.

Munoz also ranks 24th for scoring (20.1 ppg) and 23rd for free throw percentage (85.6).  Windy Boy is 32nd for 3-point percentage (42.1).  Senior Justin Hassell is 33rd nationally for scoring (19.4 ppg) and 43rd for rebounding (8.9 rpg). 

Following his school-record 16 assists on Saturday, Carlin Hughes (Fr., Perth, Australia) moved up to twelfth in the country for assists per game at 6.1.  Jonathan Wiley (So., Westlake Village, CA) remained at 50th for free throw percentage (83.8) although he missed the last two weeks with an injury.
