Yellowjacket Tennis Teams Fall on
first Day of PacWest Championships

LAIE, HI – The Montana State-Billings tennis teams
were both swept in the first
round of the PacWest Tennis Championships on
Thursday. Both the men's and women's teams
were seeded fourth in the six team tournament.
The men's team lost to No. 3 Hawaii-Hilo, 6-0, and
the women's team lost to No. 3 Hawaii Pacific, 9-0.
With their loss, the Yellowjacket men will draw top
seed Hawaii Pacific in the second round of the
tournament. The match is scheduled to begin at
12:30 p.m. Mountain Time. The Sea Warriors are
currently unbeaten and ranked No. 1 in the nation.
The Lady Yellowjackets draw top seeded BYU-Hawaii,
who is ranked No. 1 in the nation and favored to win
its third straight national championship. The
match is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. Mountain
Time. The Seasiders have won 92 consecutive
matches dating back to their first national
championship season in 2002.
