Top Seeds Cruise in Opening Round of PacWest Tennis Championships (April 10, 2003)

BILLINGS, MT – The top three seeds all posted shutout victories in the first round of the Pacific West Conference tennis championships on Thursday at Montana State University-Billings.  Top-seed and defending champion BYU-Hawaii coasted past #6 Western New Mexico.  In other action, second-seed Hawaii Pacific downed #5 Chaminade while #3 Hawaii-Hilo defeated host #4 MSU Billings.  To keep the tournament’s schedule running on time, matches were halted once a team captured the five wins necessary to claim the match.

The tournament continues on Friday with all men’s matches taking place at Rose Park.  Following is Friday’s men’s schedule:
