Yellowjackets Open Season with 3-1 Victory
BILLINGS – The Montana State
University-Billings men’s soccer team won their
season opener, downing the University of
Colorado-Colorado Springs 3-1 at a tournament in
Salt Lake City. The Jackets, under first year coach
Doug Seigle, were led by goals from Kyle Bales,
Tyler Garrett, and Mike Gallegos. MSU Billings led
3-0 before giving up a late goal for the final
margin.
“We dominated the whole game,”
said Seigle. “Our guys are excited to finally be
able to get a game under their belts. For the most
part, we played well the entire game, and we showed
that our fitness level is very good for this point
in the season.”
The Yellowjackets will face
Concordia University-Irvine (CA) on Saturday at
12:30 p.m. in Salt Lake City. The tournament is
hosted by Westminster College, who MSUB will play on
Sunday. |
