Alumni Association Committees

Executive Committee

1. General oversight of all operations affecting policy, property and functions of the Association.
2. Monitors and evaluates progress of the Alumni committee structure.
3. Makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding policy and budget.

Awards Committee

1. Responsible for the development and implementation of the annual Outstanding Alumni Awards programs that recognizes distinguished alumnus of our University.
2. Works with the Nominations Committee to research possible candidates for the awards.
3. Recruits alumni to serve on the selection committees--from nominations committee to the final selection.
4. Responsible from the recognition event at which award winners are recognized and presented with their award.

Communications Committee

1. Review all written communication developed through the alumni office and make recommendations for improvement. Design new programs where applicable.
2. Analyze electronic communications and develop a strategy to expand electronic communications.
3. Review the Association website and make suggestions for improvement.

Golf Tournament Committee

1. Review the past tournaments and make necessary changes for improvement.
2. Committee is responsible for securing sponsorships, flag prizes, grand prizes and raffle items.
3. Committee is also responsible for promotion of the tournament and recruiting teams.
4. The tournament is set for June 13, 2008.

Legislative Committee

1. Work Closely with the MSU Billings Department of Government Relations.
2. Assist the university relating to legislative issues when needed.
3. Create a network of alumni in communities across the state.

Outreach Committee

1. Monitor the progress of the Alumni Outreach events.
2. Assist staff in designing events in areas including graduation fair, commencement, career services, alumni receptions and community events.
3. Continue to research programs that would help the Alumni Association connect with present students as well as graduates.

Scholarship Selection Committee

1. Review applications that qualify for the Alumni Association scholarship.
2. Make the selection of one student annually to receive the scholarship.
3. Committee members are responsible for generating adequate funding for the annual awards.
