Class Notes Winter 2013

Benita Steel Solberg '59 and her husband, Marvin, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Laughlin, Nevada.  They have three children and seven grandchildren.


Craig Price '63 and his spouse, Anita, of Sidney, Montana, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a cruise to Hawaii.  They have two children and four grandchildren.


Robert Pulley '71 and his wife, Joyce, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their family in Billings.  They are both retired but were the former owners of Goofie's Bar and Grill.  They have three children and four grandchildren.


Doris Barta '79, '98 is the 2012 recipient of the Outstanding Professional Fundraiser's Award from the Montana Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.  Doris is the grants director at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings.


Trina White '79 of Billings has joined Montana Real Estate Brokers.  She has 23 years of experience in real estate.


Donna Fredericks '83, '01 was awarded the Master's Council Recognition of Excellence award from Prudential Annuities.  The award goes to select advisors who achieve outstanding sales and client service levels in retirement income strategic planning.  Donna has been with Prudential Financial in Billings for 10 years.


Kim Boelter '86 has earned U.S. Bank's quarterly Pinnacle Award for top performance during the fourth quarter of 2012.  Kim is a private banking relationship manager at the downtown Billings location.


Kevin Kraft '93 was named president of the Shiloh Road branch of Yellowstone Bank in Billings.


Ty Elkin '95 was recently named president of Yellowstone Bank, Billings Homestead Branch.  He has been with the bank since 1998.

Ken Kallem '96, a financial adviser for Ameriprise Financial in Billings, has earned the Certified Financial Planner certification.  He also achieved the professional designation of Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor through the College of Financial Planning.


Russell Nemetz '99 was recently recognized with the Service Excellence Award by Northern Broadcasting System.  He is the ag director with Northern Ag Network in Billings.


Coralee Goni '00 was recognized as one of Billings 40 Under Forty for 2013.  She is the operations manager at Rimrock Foundation and has been with the organization since 2001.

Craig Vihinen '01, branch manager at U.S. Bank in Billings, has earned the company's annual Pinnacle Award.  The award recognizes employees for their outstanding performance and is one of U.S. Bank's highest achievement honors.


Jennifer Mercer '02 was recognized as one of Billings 40 Under Forty for 2013.  Jennifer is the executive director of the Billings Depot.

Adrienne Meyer Burns '04 has joined Eide Bailly LLP in Billings as an associate in the accounting services department.

Michael Craighill ‘05 was named one of Billings' 40 Under Forty in 2013.  He is the owner of Soup and Such in downtown Billings.


Kelly Melius '05 received the 2012 Staff Team Award from Easter Seals-Goodwill for her work with the children's autism services staff.  Team members are located in Billings and Missoula and travel around the state to provide developmental intervention and enrichment activities for children with autism.


Dr. Justin R. Kopp, class of '06 College of Allied Health, completed his Doctor of Health Sciences at A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona.  Established in 1892 and home of the world's first osteopathic medical school,  A.T. Still University is recognized around the world as a renowned, multidisciplinary healthcare facility.  Dr. Kopp is certified by the Massachusetts School of Medicine to provide integrated behavioral health in primary care.

Elizabeth Jiggins '07, a psychometrist at the Center for Children and Families in Billings, recently completed her certification from the Board of Certified Psychometrists in Nashville, Tenn.  She is the only certified psychometrist in the state of Montana.  A psycometrist is a professional who administers and scores psychological and neuropsychological tests under the supervision of a licensed psychologist.

Kelly McCandless '07 was recognized as one of Billings 40 Under Forty for 2013.  She is the communications manager for the Billings Chamber of Commerce.


Sylvia Noble '08 was recognized as one of Billings 40 Under Forty for 2013.  She is the human resources director at STEP Inc.


Haylie Shipp '08 was recently named "Salesperson of the Year" and recognized for highest sales increase, highest relationship growth and most new accounts by Northern Broadcasting System Inc.  She serves as associate ag director and marketing specialist for the Northern Ag Network in Billings.


Lori Buxbaum '10, a certified hospice and palliative nurse in the EBMS Carelink program, has earned the CHPN credential by successfully passing a rigid exam for a four-year recertification in hospice and palliative care.  The certificate is accredited by the American Board of Nursing Specialties.


Deby Murch '10 was recently hired as HR Accounting manager for the Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming in the Billings office.  She previously worked for Valley Federal Credit Union as HR director.


Kyle Armstrong '12 has joined Eide Bailly in Billings as an audit associate.


Jessica Tuck '12 recently joined the Billings Gazette as a sales consultant for a new publication titled Montana Energy Review.  Before joining the Gazette she was a sales consultant for David's Bridal.
