Julie Jensen Brown joined the National Guard following 9/11 then completed her accounting degree at Columbia College in Columbia, MO. She credits MSUB for giving her a great start. Julie is a Medicare auditor for the Dept. of Health & Human Services in Kansas City and has earned her CPA license.
Bonnie Preikszas '34 has spent many years traveling in the US as well as abroad. Bonnie's interests are Montana history and piano.
Irene Shogren '35 of Billings enjoyed working with children throughout her teaching career.
Dr. James Hanna '49 of Billings is retired from dentistry but contributes his dental talents to third world countries. Jim's hobbies are watercolor painting and bronze sculptures.
Virginia Kyger-Jellison '49 is retired from teaching science with the Billings school district. Virginia is involved in several community organizations.
Carolyn Pilgrim '52 of Poplar, Montana, has retired from teaching after 20 years.
James Sindelar '52 flew as a naval aviator and had an active career with the Navy. James is now a self-employed rancher in the Billings area.
Joan Yedlicka Andersen '58 and her spouse, Marty, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a party at the Fromberg United Methodist Church. Joan taught elementary school and served four terms in the Montana State Legislature. Marty retired from the National Park Service. They have two children and eight grandchildren.
Marjorie Richardson '58 is a retired teacher from Rickreall, Oregon. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and sewing.
Neil Lininger '61 of Aurora, CO and his spouse, Sharon, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Marilee Ryniker '61 and her spouse, Bruce, have been married for 50 years and have two sons and two grandsons.
Sharon Loveall '62 of Columbia Falls, Montana is appreciating retirement, traveling and spending time at the cabin where she enjoys hiking, fishing and entertaining family & friends.
Dale McLane '62 of Wildomar, Cal. retired in 1989 after 30 years with HUD/FHA as a real estate appraiser, and retired a second time from his own appraisal business in 2007. He and his wife, Inez, now enjoy traveling in their 5th wheel.
Leroy Summers '63 and his spouse, Diane, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family in Billings. They have two children and three grandchildren.
Loren Soft '65 spent 34 years at the Yellowstone Boy's and Girl’s Ranch working with troubled youth and now spends nine months out of the year as a consultant for the Boy’s and Girl’s Home of North Carolina. He provides consultation to non-profits on strategic planning and leadership training.
Douglas Woltersdorf '65 of Battle Ground, Wash. is retired after teaching for 40 years and now spends his winters in Florida.
Carl Engstrom '66 and his wife spend most of their time traveling in their motorhome all over the U.S. and Canada. They recently spent two months in the Philippines with their gospel music ministry, the Classic Gospelaires.
David Maloney '66 of Great Falls is a self-employed artist and has displayed his works at the CM Russell Art Museum. David is well known among private collectors.
Marjorie Maloney '66 is retired after 31 years of teaching.
Linda Torczon '66 is retired on the family ranch near Cody, Wyo. She enjoys gardening, yard work, crafts and church.
Sharon Earhart '68 of Powell, Wyo. was named 2010 Citizen of the year by the Powell Valley Chamber of Commerce. She received similar honors in the past from the Powell Mason’s and Kiwanis Club as well. Sharon serves on many community boards and has been instrumental in organizing a cancer support group and a diabetic support group for the Powell community.
Gertrude Koch '69 is enjoying retirement after teaching with the Billings school district. Gertrude is involved with the Long Term Care Program and Yellowstone County Guardianship Council. She spends time researching her family history and genealogy.
Nesha Lange '69 is retired after teaching school for 30 years in Savage, Mont. She and her husband Robert Lange ’70 ranch near Savage and have raised five children.
David Klarich '70 has retired from the Billings School District and now teaches statistics for the Math Department and Yoga for the Health and Physical Education Department at MSU Billings.
Gary Monson '70 of Grand Rapids, Minnesota retired from teaching in 2002. Gary and his wife Barbara spend the winter months in Florida.
Neill Petrie '70 is self-employed and operates Pete's Gas Station Museum, a combination gas station, museum and gift shop, in Williams, Arizona.
Catherine Drynan '71 of Helena worked for the State of Montana for 30 years and is now retired.
Jo Ann Friedly Freischlag '72 anticipates retirement after selling real estate for 27 years in Colorado Springs. Jo Ann enjoys golf, international travel and spending time with her grandchildren.
Thomas Bryson '73 is retired after 35 years of teaching with the Billings school district.
Brenda Gruel '74 is a co-owner of Sterling Ranch Company in Cascade, Mont. She is active in the community and enjoys painting and drawing for which she has won ribbons at local fairs.
Irene Britton '75 of Portland, Oregon is working with American Missionary Fellowship serving a small congregation and is also a nanny to two children.
Pamela Headding '75 of Denver retired from teaching in 2010.
Vicky Thomas '76 is employed at the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire as an advising coordinator for students with disabilities.
Patricia Fuller '77 retired from the National Park Service in 2010 after 33 years of working for the Federal government. She now lives in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Rosalind Blackford '78 and her husband, Byrl, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner and dance at the Crowne Plaza in Billings. Rosalind is retired from AT&T and Byrl retired as president of Division 10 Specialties. They have three children and five grandchildren.
Joni Casterline '79 is a school counselor at North Clackamas School District in Oregon and has lived in the Portland area for the past twenty years.
Kurtis Hilliard '79 of Billings has worked for Spencer Fluid Power for over 30 years. He and his wife, Cathy, have three children and two grandchildren.
Willie Stewart '84 of Hardin, Montana is retired from Sarpy Coal Mine and happily enjoying life with his wife, Charlene.
Lois Middleton '85 and her husband, J.R., recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a Caribbean cruise followed later with a reception at their home in Shepherd. They have five children, 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Juanita Ross '85, ‘06 opened a new counseling/aromatherapy business in downtown Billings. She works with disability adjustment, PTSD, trauma and stress management clients.
Timothy Gilg '86 is a forestry technician responsible for tree planting contracts in the Black hills National Forest.
Stuart McRae '87 graduated with a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War
College in Carlisle, Pa. Colonel Stuart is slated to take command of the garrison
at Fort Rucker, Alabama in 2012. Fort Rucker is home to all Army and Air Force rotary-wing
training and approximately 14,000 personnel.
Michael Sullivan '87 is administrator of Yellowstone Academy at the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch in Billings. He was previously middle school principal for the Lockwood School District and before that a geography teacher at Will James Middle School.
Lisa Bergman '88 is working for the Department of Defense in England teaching in an American elementary school for military families. Lisa received her Master's in June '09.
Earlene Meyer '88, ‘95 and Bob Meyer ‘80 are both retired and enjoy traveling and spending time with their Grandchildren.
John Pryde '88 and Tara Pryde '89 are parents of three active children. John is employed with HEB, the 4th largest grocer in U.S., and his area of expertise is privacy/HIPAA issues
Lisa Rockwell '88 is a counselor with the Anaheim Union High School District and has served four terms as president of the counseling union.
Melissa Cromwell '89 was the 2011 recipient of the Public Health Champion Award from the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services for her work with the Tobacco Prevention Coalition. Melissa teaches at Wolf Point High School.
Robert Gilpin '89 has published two pieces of creative writing in Write Around Portland Anthologies.
Richard Olson '89 of Billings is retired from the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union and likes to spend his free time reading, or outdoors biking, walking and fishing.
Jeanne Tallman '89 is a freelance writer and photographer. She had a story published in A View Inside Glacier National Park 100 Years - 100 Stories as part of the Glacier National Park Centennial in 2009.
Melody Haynes '90 is teaching art and physical education for Hysham Public Schools.
Eric Ramsett '90 of Billings is self-employed doing lawn and garden maintenance and snow removal.
Kathryn Seidler '90 is a family support specialist with Quality Life Concepts in Great Falls.
Sherri Bartholomew '92, ‘94 is a K-12 school counselor for Pryor school district. Since graduating with her master’s degree in Rehab Counseling from MSU Billings she has gone on to earn her LCPC and also an endorsement in school counseling.
Paula Ludlum Fleenor '93 is a retired clinical laboratory scientist. Paula owns a book store, Delicate Arch Books, in Moab, Utah.
Marjorie Harpold '95 of Billings is retired from teaching and now has time for watercolor painting and keeping up with the grandkids.
Deanna Walcheck '95 is employed by Occupational Health Services in Kalispell. She is completing her Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at Texas Tech University Health Science Center.
Florence Gold '96 is employed with Jacobs Engineering in Bozeman. She received her Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from MSU Bozeman in 2011.
Tara Goodwin '97 is employed with Western Governors University as an adjunct faculty member. She previously taught Special Ed for the Fontana School District in California and spent two years as a district specialist.
Charlotte Harasymczuk '98 of Billings is president of the Montana Association of the Deaf, and also serves on the Vocational Rehabilitation Advisory Council.
Rhonda Rooney '98 of Englewood, Colorado, works as an Implementation manager for GHX in the healthcare industry and spends a lot of time traveling. She is actively involved in her community with the Denver Museum, Colorado Symphony and Junior League.
Lane Simpson '98 recently earned a BS in management from the University of Mary with honors. Lane and his wife, Mary Sharlynn Old Elk live in Hardin, Montana.
Lysa Fox '99 is teaching at Cal State Long Beach in the Theatre Arts department and also at Orange County High School for the Performing Arts. Lysa received her MFA in Acting and Directing from California State University, Long Beach, in 2010.
Marci Harris '99 of New Plymouth, Idaho, is working on her thesis for a Masters in Criminal Justice Administration and also working towards a CADC Certificate.
Lisa Mortieau '99 has been teaching art at East Valley Middle School in Helena for the past 12 years.
Jason Mueller '99 is the support manager at Clearfly Communications in Billings. Jason and his wife, Heather, have a son, Dane, born in 2009.
Anthony Dean '00 of Helena is employed by the State of Montana and provides financial expertise to local non-profits, state government, and faith based organizations.
Nancy Loncki '00 is a County Director for the Cascade County Office of Public Assistance and an adjunct professor at the MSU Great Falls College of Technology, teaching Introduction to Business. Nancy is president of the Great Falls symphony Association and is taking fiddle lessons on the side.
Jordan Cornelius '02 graduated from Colorado State University with an MBA in 2010. His accounting firm, Hawkway CPA's, specializes in tribal government and gaming audit and accounting services.
Derek Berube '03 is employed with Franklin Electric in Billings and was the recipient of the 2007 Initiative and Achievement Award. Derek was selected for Leadership Billings 2012.
Benjamin Dixon '03 received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Regis University in 2006. He is a physical therapist for two clinics and has additional training and expertise in manual therapy techniques and trigger point dry needling.
Shawn Dixon '03 received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 2008. She completed an internship in equine medicine and surgery and works as an associate for an equine ambulatory practice. Shawn is also, certified in veterinary medical acupuncture.
Jamee Free '03 recently joined Yellowstone Counseling Center as a licensed clinical counselor. She worked at Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch since 2006 and became a primary therapist in 2008. She is trained in dialectical behavior therapy.
Lee Humphrey '03 has achieved the professional designation of Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist. This advanced training is designed to focus on design, installation and maintenance of retirement plans. Lee is an investment advisor with Edward Jones in Billings.
Rayna DeSocio '04 is a fifth/sixth grade combination class teacher at Lustre Grade School in Frazier, Montana.
Kathy Jensen '04 manages a 40-bed assisted living facility in Sidney, Mont. She appreciates her accounting and health administration classes at MSUB which gave her the background to focus on long-term care and the continuum of services and the scholarships which allowed her to focus on achieving her education goals.
Patricia Kiefer '04 is the eBranch Manager and Marketing Officer for Farmers State Bank, a community bank in the Bitterroot Valley. She has been a CASA volunteer, a court appointed special advocate, for the past four years.
Garth Loftsgaard '04 is doing auto body work in Chinook, Montana. He and his wife, Tami, have a daughter, Ainsley, born in 2010.
Brian VanSteeland is a CPA with Summers McNea & Co. in Billings. Brian and his wife, Lisa, have three sons.
Katherine Fink '05 is a Special Ed teacher for the Children's Resource Center in Lovell, Wyoming.
Melanie Ruonavaara '05 has been teaching first grade for 6 years at West Valley School in Kalispell.
Gretchen Hector '06 is attending Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management with a goal of a Master’s Degree in Accounting.
Kori Miller '06 graduated pharmacy school in 2010 and manages one of the Osco Pharmacy stores in Billings. Kori was recently selected to become the clinical specialist in Billings.
Carol Toenyes ’06 of Billings is employed with Dex One and is working on a MBA through the University of Phoenix.
Anna Garman Valentine '06 is a compliance regulator with Anadarko Petroleum in Gillette, Wyoming.
Zac Valentine '06 has been employed with Anadarko Petroleum Corp. for four years. Anna and Zac met at MSU Billings while taking Environmental Studies classes.
Carmen Ehlert Van Voast '06 is a physical therapist assistant and a certified massage therapist. Carmen is also certified in open water scuba diving.
Nicole Balster '07 recently celebrated four years of employment with Avitus Group in Billings. She and her husband Joshua had their first child in October.
Laura Bryan '07 works as a surgical dental assistant for Billings Oral Surgery. She is planning to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Biology to further her career in the healthcare field.
Penny Crandall '07 earned a teaching endorsement in general science and chemistry and teaches at Pembroke Academy in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Dan Hansen '07 has moved back to the Puget Sound area where he will be completing a master’s degree. He recently completed his second year of teaching math at Hays Lodgepole High School in Hays, Montana.
Casie Rashleigh '07 is teaching first grade at John Paul II Catholic School in Gillette. Casie is thankful for the online teaching cohort program at MSUB for giving her this opportunity.
Nicole Redmond ‘07 is beginning her fifth year of teaching kindergarten with the Billings Public Schools.
Chelsea Czeczel ‘08 is employed at St. Vincent Healthcare as an X-Ray tech and has also added phlebotomy to her skill set. She is the proud mother of two wonderful boys. In her spare time, Chelsea is studying the Polish language and culture.
Susan Weikel '08 earned her CPA certification in January 2011. She is working for the Montana Department of Revenue as an accountant.
Summer Egan-Sachen '09 is employed with Oxnard Unified High School District in California. Summer and Alex Sachen were married in October 2010, honeymooned in Costa Rica and then traveled to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada.
Mariah Hinderager ’09 recently purchased the Gorham Park Laundry in Billings. She’s on the go as the mother of two young children, business owner and manager.
Regina Whittle ‘09 is working for Action for Eastern Montana. Regina obtained certification in advanced parenting for challenging children. She is working towards becoming a certified attachment therapist.
Tia Sheehan '10 is employed with Trinity Hospital in Minot. Tia will be attending Minot State University for a Master of Education with an emphasis in human performance/ exercise science.
Shara Sullivan '10 graduated from College of Technology and is working for the Billings Clinic as a radiologic technologist.
