Glenn Kozeluh '53 and his spouse Noreen (Ortwein) '54 celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by taking their family of 5 children, spouses and 10 grandchildren on a 7 day cruise to Mexico. They all met in Long Beach, boarded the Royal Caribbean on Christmas Eve and returned on New Years Eve. It was a very special holiday for everyone.
Lela Gum '59 and her husband, Ben, recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family reunion. Lela was an elementary teacher and Ben a minister at Huntley United Methodist Church. They have three children, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Lloyd Mickelson '64 was recently honored as Trustee of the Year by the Montana Library Association Conference. Lloyd worked on the interlocal agreement for library services between the City of Billings and the Yellowstone County Commission and also conceived the idea of library sponsorship of a regional book award program which evolved into the High Plains Book Award ceremony.
Don Glaser '74 has been named Mid-Pacific regional director for the Bureau of Reclamation. He spent the past seven years managing several non-profits engaged in water education, open space preservation, and fish and wildlife conservation and restoration. His experience includes twenty years with the Bureau of Reclamation in several positions throughout the west and Washington, DC. The Glaser's will be relocating from Colorado to Sacramento, CA.
Valerie Kenney '74 has this to say about her education at MSUB (Eastern Montana College): “EMC's graduate school's Vocational Rehabilitation program was the best! I realized it on-the-job in 1974 when fellow colleagues demonstrated a longer adjustment period to the counseling role and a considerably lower achievement level annually. I was employed 27 years before retiring in 2001 and moving back to Billings in 2005. Thank you EMC/MSUB!”
Linda Bertelson '78 was named Teacher of the Year by the Billings Education Association. Linda teaches at Broadwater Elementary.
Charles Joe Barbero '79 is an instructor with the Jobs for Montana's Graduates, a program funded through the Montana Department of Labor and Industry. He works as a teacher/job specialist with the Billings School District.
Beverly Butorac '79 and her husband, Jack, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip and dinner in Palm Desert, Calif. Beverly taught elementary school in Hardin, Crow Agency and Lodge Grass for 23 years. Jack owned Graham-Staunton Chevrolet-Olds in Hardin for 32 years. They have three children and six grand children.
Margaret Aukshun '83 was named a recipient of the 2008 Golden Apple Award by the Billings Education Association. Margaret teaches math at Billings West High School.
Carol Demaray '83, '08 is a counselor at the Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch in Billings. She recently completed her master's degree in school counseling from MSU Billings.
Sandy Wong '83 has been selected to receive the Wells Fargo Bank 2008 Volunteer Service Award. Sandy is a YWCA board member and has co-chaired the YWCA Salute to Women event for the past two years. She is a mortgage consultant with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in Billings.
Lucy '84 and Fred '88 Magers of Billings recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a party at their son's home. They have ten children, 14 grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
Karen James '85 Received her Masters in Special Education from Portland State University. She is currently working in a special school serving students with autism and emotional disturbance.
Rick Wright '86 has joined High Plains Architects in Billings as a CADD technician. He graduated from Billings Vocational Technology Center in 1986 and spent several years working at various jobs in the construction industry.
Eileen Holt Larson '87 and her husband, Keith, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception, dinner and dance in Ekalaka. They are a ranching family and have five children, 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Curtis Brien '88 is a health educator for the Indian Health Service in Crow Agency, MT. He has many fond memories of football games during the 1970's at Eastern Montana College. Curtis earned his M.Ed. from the University of Montana in 1995.
Tracy Linder '88 has been appointed to the Montana Arts Council by Governor Brian Schweitzer. Tracy is an artist and lives in Molt, Mont.
DuRee Cole '89 was recently hired as a sales team leader for Gainans Flowers in Billings. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the customer service center as well as the style and recognition committees and the new sales training program. DuRee was previously a manager for AAA of Southern California.
Barbara Potzman '91 of Columbus, Mont. has joined Montana Real Estate Brokers. She specializes in real estate properties in Columbus and the surrounding areas.
Troy Wilson '93 and his dad, Rod Wilson, of Wilson & Wilson the Real Estate Firm, have earned the EcoBroker designation. They completed a training program on the energy and environmental issues that affect real estate transactions. The Wilson's are the first ecobrokers in Billings.
Jeffrey Henderson '94 has joined the staff of FCS Securities in Long Beach, Calif. as Office Manager and Service Assistant. Henderson will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm as well as assisting clients with all aspects of servicing and maintaining their accounts. Prior to consulting as the founder of NeatFreak and serving as Executive Director of the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association, Henderson worked for Adler Public Affairs on several award-winning campaigns ranging from public awareness to political. He also served as General Manager of Cutler Enterprises, a west Los Angeles-area boutique advertising agency and as a Financial Development/Corporate Relations Specialist for the Orange County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Marc Dean '95 was named Rookie of the Year for 2008 by the Billings Association of Realtors. Marc is a realtor with Prudential Floberg Realtors of Billings and earned this award through his commitment to local board and civic activities.
Jason Vollmer '97 was recently hired by Warren Transport of Billings as the sales/business development director. He was previously with Headwaters Resources and marketed fly and bottom ash to Montana, Wyoming and Idaho.
Brenda Casey '98 recently joined HKM Engineering, a division of DOWL LLC as a senior systems engineer in the IT department. She was previously employed by Billings School District 2 as the network manager.
Tiffany McNeff '98 is a residential mortgage loan officer with First Interstate Bank. She has 10 years experience in the real estate industry and specializes in conventional, FHA, VA and Montana Board of Housing home loans.
Rhonda Rooney '98 is an independent contractor specializing in specific to system implementations or change management in the retail industry. Her home base is Englewood, CO, but she travels throughout the United States.
Marcy Trowbridge '98 is a mortgage loan officer with Valley Federal Credit Union in Billings. She works with conventional, FHA, VA, rural development and Montana Board of Housing loans.
Kori Bloom '99 was a recipient of the national Stars of Life award from her employer, American Medical Response. There are about 100 recipients nationally each year. Kori is a paramedic and leads AMR's community safety program for kids and their families. Kori became an emergency technician in 1993 then a paramedic following graduation from the College of Technology in 1999.
Jonathan Schermerhorn '99 graduated from Officer Candidate School in 2003 and is with the U.S. Navy stationed in Naples, Italy as a Force Protection/Operations Officer. He is currently pursuing a Master's in public administration with the University of Maryland.
Kimberly Hart '00 recently joined the office of Century 21 Hometown Brokers in Billings.
Kevin Rookhuizen '00 recently joined Billings Federal Credit Union as vice president of sales and marketing. He manages overall sales, marketing and public relations for the credit union and has more than eight years of financial services and marketing experience.
Brent Schwab '00 has been named vice president of Payne Financial Group Inc. of Billings. He has been a sales executive in the Employee Benefits Department of the company.
Shari Woodard '00 has been named vice president of corporate communications for the Billings Outlaws. She has been involved in marketing radio broadcast services in the Billings area for eight years.
Kris Eklund '02 was recently promoted to assistant vice president at the downtown branch of Western Security Bank in Billings. He is a business banker in the commercial lending department.
Nick Kanning '02 graduated from Creighton Dental School '07 and is currently an associate practicing at Dundee Family Dental in Omaha, NE and a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), American Dental Association (ADA) and Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).
Kim Chouinard '03, '08 is a behavior specialist staff supervisor at the Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch in Billings. She recently completed her master's of education in school counseling from MSU Billings.
Jamee Free '03, '08 recently completed her master's degree in psychology and a master's in school counseling from MSU Billings. She also has a master's of divinity degree from Campbell University which she earned in 2006. Jamee is a representative of Jeremiah Ministries and a counselor at the Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch in Billings.
Philip Hauck '03 is a branch manager for International Bank of Commerce in Texas. He taught in Kansas for a year prior to moving to Texas and is now working towards an MBA degree at the University of Texas Pan American.
Kirk Keysor '03 has joined the USDA Rural Development in Billings as an area specialist for Eastern Montana. He was previously a loan officer with Stockman Bank.
Tichelle Ickes '04 has been hired by Huntley Project High School in Worden, Montana as an English teacher and will begin her new position in August. She is currently the editor of the Western Livestock Reporter and has previous teaching experience at Power school in Power, Mont.
Niki Nixdorf Mitchell '04 is the director of administrative services and human resources at the Richardton Memorial Hospital and Clinic in Richardson, North Dakota.
Joe Walsh '04 was named a recipient of the 2008 Golden Apple Award by the Billings Education Association. Joe is a counselor at Bench Elementary where his efforts at teaching respect and social skills have curbed bullying at the school.
Sali Armstrong '05 has joined Prudential Floberg Realtors in Billings. She specializes in residential properties.
Danielle Koppinger '05 recently joined Swanson Leavitt Insurance of Billings as a personal lines marketing manager. She has seven years experience in the banking industry.
Ryan Mayes '05 recently joined A Haus of Realty Inc. in Laurel, Mont. as a realtor. He previously worked at the Laurel Outlook as a sports writer/photographer and production manager and is currently an assistant coach for the Laurel High School football and wrestling teams.
Michael Moots '06 and his family are currently living in beautiful Scottsdale, AZ, where he works for Wells Fargo as part of the Leadership Development Program for the Technology Information Group. The program offers the opportunity to learn about all areas of technology in Wells Fargo with hands on projects and meeting with current senior managers. Michael has also had the opportunity to develop a network of colleagues within the technology group. He will graduate from the program in August and is currently exploring different technology positions to take on as his first assignment.
Kyle Thelen '06 is a commercial lines account executive with Flynn Insurance Agency in Billings. He successfully completed the National Alliance producer Development Program and specializes in the insurance needs of business owners
Jennifer Ray '07 is a licensed property manager and real estate agent with Ray & Co. Realtors of Billings.
Dee Skillman '07 is a special Ed teacher in a 7-12th grade self-contained classroom at the Yellowstone Academy on the campus of the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch near Billings.
Janelle VanSteeland '07 is a treatment manager at the Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch. She recently earned a master's degree in rehabilitation and mental health counseling from MSU Billings.
Clint Cecil '08 is a recreation specialist at the Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch in Billings.
Gary Gene Frazier '08 is a counselor at the Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch in Billings. He recently completed a bachelor's degree in human services at MSU Billings.
Josh Holte '08 is an automotive technician at Expert Tire in Billings. He specializes in alignments, brakes, maintenance services and tire services.
Andrea Kenney '08 is the director of public relations, media and grants at the Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of liberal studies from MSU Billings.

Kyle Rickhoff '08 has been named on-line editor at the Billings Gazette. Prior to joining the Gazette he was the statewide online producer for KTVQ and other Correla Communication television stations in Montana.
