Current Status and Timelines for NWCCU Accreditation
In August 2010 the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) reaffirmed accreditation for Montana State University Billings (MSUB) following the Focused Interim Visit in May. MSUB had successfully addressed the four Recommendations by the NWCCU Board from the 2008 Comprehensive Evaluation.
The Focused Interim Visit resulted in three Recommendations by the NWCCU Board in which MSUB is largely in compliance but in need of improvement.
MSUB began a seven-year cycle towards University accreditation based on the new NWCCU Standards.
In August the MSUB Accreditation and Assessment Council (AA Council) was formed to oversee and coordinate the University assessment and accreditation process, and determine completeness of all necessary reports regarding University assessment and accreditation.
During the Academic Year 2010-2011 the AA Council developed core themes, goals and indicators to comply with Standard 1.
