Dear ANJO International CPA Students,
Since our last update message, MSU-Billings has made great
progress towards making arrangements to serve your needs
to continue taking the accounting and business related credit
courses and exams which had previously been delivered through
our partnership with ANJO International to help you prepare
for successfully taking the U.S. CPA examination.
We thank you for your continued patience as we work to
finalize these new arrangements. We are currently trying
to finalize arrangements to collaborate with a new educational
partner based in Japan and hope to have final decisions
approved by the end of next week. By Tuesday, June 20th
(Mountain Standard Time), we plan to communicate details
to you on our intentions to provide you with specific information
and timelines for offering you the following resources and
services which will enable you to continue toward fulfilling
your educational goals:
1. We intend to offer all students interested in preparing
for the U.S. CPA examination, the opportunity to enroll
in the same courses, using the same textbooks, DVD’s,
and Internet course resources as what had previously been
offered through ANJO International, but through a new educational
partner in Japan. Additionally, we intend to continue offering
you the opportunity to earn the same University credits
through Montana State University-Billings which you had
been able to earn previously.
2. We intend to schedule monthly dates, times and locations
in Japan for students to complete final examinations for
these courses, with the first exam to be offered in Tokyo
on June 25th, and additional exams to be offered at least
once a month in Tokyo and Osaka, at the end of each month
thereafter. For those students not residing in Japan, we
intend to assist you with arrangements to take proctored
examinations at locations near where you reside. Additionally,
we are researching the possibility of contracting with a
testing service which could help you complete examinations
with more frequent offerings at many locations throughout
Japan and internationally.
3. As mentioned in previous update messages, we intend
to hire Japanese staff who will work in a physical MSU-Billings
office located in Tokyo, Japan, possibly in collaboration
with a new educational partner. We will announce details
of the office location and staff contact information by
early July.
4. We intend to hold public information sessions in Japan
in July and August to inform students of final decisions
and arrangement that MSU-Billings will make to enable you
to continue completing these courses to prepare for the
U.S. CPA examination, and to allow students to have their
questions and concerns addressed personally by MSU-Billings
staff. All information provided during these information
sessions will also be posted on our website at http://www.msubillings.edu/uscpa
for those students who are unable to attend the public sessions.
Again, we thank you for your patience and understanding
during this time of transition. Although it will take some
additional time to confirm the final arrangements described
above, you can trust that MSU-Billings is committed to helping
you continue toward your educational goals as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kirk Lacy
