Jilin University is the largest university in China.  Founded in 2000 by the merger of six universities, it has over sixty-three thousand students and over 800 international students. Jilin is committed to internationalizing their campus and welcomes students from all over the world.  The university has established worldwide exchange programs with more than 130 universities in more than 40 countries. They boast a wide variety of majors including sciences, technology, business, social science, and the humanities.

Courses

Subjects
Jilin offers the opportunity for English speaking students to learn the Chinese language by participating in in-depth, preparative courses.  Depending on a student’s major, there may be a few content courses taught in English.  However, most major content courses will be taught in Chinese.

Chinese Language Courses
Content includes: Synthesis Chinese Language, Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Newspapers and Periodicals' Reading, News' Listening, Translation, Contemporary Chinese Language, Archaic Chinese Language.

Other Courses
Chinese History, Chinese Literature, Chinese Philosophy, Chinese Cultural, Chinese Geography, Chinese Economy.

Housing

On-campus housing are double occupancy rooms.  Costs are approximately 2500 CNY per month (≠ $400).

Costs

Registration is about 400 Chinese Yuan Renminbi  (≠ $65)
Tuition at Jilin is waived for exchange students.  MSUB students pay tuition to MSUB.

VISA

The applicant should bring all the required documents (e.g. Admission Letter & JW 202 Form) to the Embassy/Consulate of the People’s Republic of China in the applicant’s home country and apply for an X visa to study in China.

Health Insurance

All international students are required to have a group comprehensive insurance, which includes an Accidental Injury Medical Treatment Insurance & a Hospitalization Medical Insurance. 
Insurance Fees are 300 CNY for 6 months (≠$50) and 600 CNY for 12 months (≠ $100).
There is an affiliated hospital on campus for minor health problems.
