Anna with other international students playing in the falling leaves on the MSUB campusHave you studied abroad before?
No, but I did a half year outreach in Bangladesh.

Why did you do it?
I love different cultures and English, thus I wanted to get to know an English-speaking country. I also wanted to improve my language and culture knowledge.

Would you do it again?
Yes, definitely! I had a wonderful experience living abroad. I enjoyed spending time with multicultural friends and learning more about my field of studies.

What was your favorite part?
Being a part of the swim team, the Christian fellowship on campus and getting to know the wilderness of Montana with friends.

Anna out driving with a friend

What was your least favorite part?
There was a lot more homework.

What was the hardest thing/challenge you faced studying abroad?
Speaking perfect English, and understanding the online homework of MSUB.

How has this study abroad affected your life now?
I am more self-confident speaking in English and to understand songs and movies. Also, I don't assume anymore that every American is living unhealthy and us unaware of environmental problems.

What advice/words of wisdom would you offer students interested in studying abroad?
Don't hesitate to ask for help, take part in Christian fellowship on/off campus and ask locals to correct your language.
