Project Goals & Objectives

The overall goal for this project is to guarantee that participating paraeducators in rural, western states achieve the status of "highly qualified" through the series of activities proposed by each institution.

The project will meet the following objectives:

  • 100% of paraeducators and prospective paraeducators in each state's rural service area who have not yet met the "highly qualified" criteria will be invited to participate in test preparation workshops.

  • Highly qualified paraeducators who wish to acquire an associate's degree will be provided the opportunity to convert experiential learning into transcript credit.

  • Highly qualified paraeducators who have been evaluated for transcript experiential credit will participate in cohorts leading to an associate's degree.
