MSUB Students Win 1st Place at National Business Plan Competition
The College of Business chapter of the American Indian Business Leaders (AIBL) was 1st place at the recent AIBL business plan competition in Phoenix, Arizona.
The winning plan, entitled Dane of the Sun, LLC, is designed to provide American Indian artist with studio space and materials to help them produce their artwork, and to help them gain regional and international media exposure. The winning team consisted of Curtis Wallette, Angela Deputee, Trixy Phelan, Zoey McRae and Heather Wilson. AIBL advisory, Dr. A.J. Otjen, predicted that the competition would be particularly tough this year, because competing schools included the University of New Mexico, Eastern Washington University, the University of Alaska, the University of Montana, Fort Lewis Colorado University and others. Otjen said, "we do well because the students always come prepared with hours and hours of work behind a strong plan based on everything they have learned from all the faculty at the COB".
