
The Department of Art is housed in three campus locations. The Liberal Arts Building houses the Visual Resource Center, the Northcutt Steele Gallery, the Student Gallery and a majority of studios.
The Photography studio is located in the library building connected to the Liberal Arts Building.
The ceramic and sculpture studios are in the Art Annex located on Poly Drive. See also: Ceramics | Sculpture Studio
The Northcutt Steele Gallery complex is located on the first floor of the Library Building. The gallery features a variety of exhibitions including the annual art faculty exhibition, juried student exhibition and individual artist exhibitions of national, regional and area significance.
Three other art collections are maintained and shown at various times: Permanent Art Collection, Opal Leonard Collection of Chinese and Japanese Art and the Collection of Helen and Paul Covert.
Public receptions are held with these exhibits and for the visiting lecturers. Exhibitions are funded in part by the Associated Students of Montana State University Billings (ASMSUB).
The Northcutt Steele Gallery is open Monday through Friday 8:00-4:00 during the academic year.

Galleria
Additional exhibition and viewing opportunities are available in the Galleria at the Student Union Building. The Art Department sponsors exhibits in the Galleria with various groups.
Yellowstone Art Museum
The Yellowstone Art Museum, located in the center of Billings not far from campus, features changing exhibits of contemporary and historical regional art. Ready access to other museums and art galleries under the majestic Rimrocks in Montana's largest city presents art students with many opportunities for individual development.
