·        may be less upsetting to present organizational hierarchy

Potential Disadvantages

 

·        narrowing of thinking and stale ideas (inbreeding)

 

·        possible discontent of rejected applicants

 

·        boss / subordinate relations can be problematic (e.g., new subordinates discount new boss’ knowledge, expect special treatment, etc.)
