Gary Amundson is a Professor in the College of Business at Montana State University-Billings. He teaches classes on Personal Financial Planning both in the classroom and online over the internet. He also teaches Introduction to Business in traditional classroom as well as on the internet. This is his sixth year at the Billings campus.

Prior he was Senior Vice President for eleven years at a Montana based company that was publicly traded and headquartered in the Billings area. At peak operations, the company employed nearly 1200 throughout the U.S., 10 Canadian Provinces, Mexico, Europe, South America and the far east.

Prior to coming to Montana in 1986, he was a Professor at the University of Arizona in Tucson for 9 years.

Gary has been named Outstanding Faculty for Teaching Excellence twice in his six year tenure at MSU-Billings; he was Advisor of the Year at the University of Arizona, and was recently granted Director Emeritus Status in 2004 by the Arizona Foundation for his many years of service that organization. In May of 2004 he was awarded an honorary degree by Skyview High School for his role as Vice Chair of the Parent Advisory Committee.

Both Gary and his wife Julie are native Montanans and have two sons in college.
