Business
I am a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas. From
1986 thru mid 1994, I was a Corporate Accountant with Shell Oil Company at their
corporate headquarters in Houston, TX. Through numerous job assignments, I
gained valuable experience in various facets of business. I ensured the
accurate/timely sales processing and inventory control of refined products at
proprietary and leased storage terminals. I served on project teams
for the development of new strategic business process designs. I assisted
in the development and implementation of two new inventory management systems.
I coordinated the consolidation of three field offices to Houston. I
conducted internal control reviews and served as liaison to the external audit
staff. I also analyzed raw material costs, price/volume fluctuations and
expense/budget data and compiled management reports. Prior to earning my
undergraduate degree, I worked four years as a Data Assistant with The State
Bank in Lake Havasu City, AZ. I reconciled daily general ledger postings
and cash letters. I operated the mainframe computer and
reader-sorter as well as performed proof operations.
Personal
I was born in Philadelphia, PA. When I was 15 years old, my family
moved out west to Lake Havasu City, AZ. I loved Arizona (and still do),
but employment and/or educational opportunities led me to Texas, Oklahoma,
Georgia, and now Montana. I am fortunate to have a wide circle of family
and friends. My brother still lives in Lake Havasu City, along with my
nephews, Kenny and Nickolas. I have three indoor cats - Kali, Kasey and
Shadow. I enjoy going to theater productions, concerts, and museums.
While in Georgia, my good friend Dixie got me hooked on antique furniture.
I enjoy shopping for it; she enjoys buying it. I like to travel and look
forward to driving around Montana and seeing all the beautiful sites
(e.g., Yellowstone, Glacier National Park).
I am very excited to be here at MSU-Billings (Go Yellowjackets!) Please stop
by my office and let us get acquainted!
