page is "a work in progress" and is meant to serve as a resource
for student athletes, faculty, athletics staff, and administration as they
pertain to the duties of the Faculty Athletic Representative.
Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) is the designated independent campus
liaison to the MSU-B Intercollegiate Athletics Department. As such, the
FAR reports to the Chancellor of the University. The FAR regularly attends
staff and other meetings of the intercollegiate athletics staff, works with
the SAAC (Student Athlete Advisory Council).
FAR is responsible for assisting student athletes with applications for NCAA
scholarships for which they may qualify. Students who are interested, please

FAR reviews academic eligibility of student athletes with the Athletic Director
and the Athletics Department Compliance Officer.
FAR serves as one of the University's delegates to the NCAA Convention.
FAR works with counterparts in other universities (especially those in our
athletic conference) to maintain the integrity of the student-athlete experience.
FAR serves as a liaison, ombudsman, and arbiter, between the MSU-B faculty
and the student athletes and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
