Mr. Brown has 22
years of progressive experience in public and private accounting,
auditing, corporate training, and university instruction. An MBA
and CPA, he has extensive industry experience, having completed
domestic and international work for major corporations and a
"Big 4" accounting firm. As a manager, instructor,
leader, and communicator, he brings modern accounting and audit
procedures into practice through the education of beginning and
long-time professionals. Currently,
Doug teaches ACCT 233 and 234, Principles of Accounting I and II,
ACCT 428, Auditing and Assurance Services, and ACCT 405, Business
Law for Accountants. He also participates in the CPA Review
Program and the College of Business' Continuing Professional
Education Program for practicing CPAs. Research
interests include internal auditing and public accounting topics. In
the recent past, Mr. Brown has provided consulting and training
services to such Fortune 500 companies as Lockheed Martin,
Wal-Mart, Sony/Tri-Star Entertainment, and Procter & Gamble.
He is also active with Montana businesses such as Corporate Air,
KMPG-Peat Marwick, and Invidia Investments.
