Lady Jackets Wrap-Up Play at Rattler Invite (2/27/07)
Final Results

SAN ANTONIO, TX – The Montana State-Billings women’s golf team completed the final 18-holes of competition Tuesday at the Lady Rattler Roundup hosted by St. Mary’s University.  The par-72 invitational was held at the Pecan Valley Golf Course in San Antonio, Texas.

Powerhouse St. Edward’s University held on for the four-stroke win shooting rounds of 315 and 321 for a combined 636.  Northeastern finished second with a combined 640.  The team carded rounds of 321 and 319 through the 36-hole invite.  Western New Mexico shaved 18 strokes off their day one total to move up three places to third with a combined 652.  The Mustangs knocked the host team St. Mary’s University from third to sixth.  The Yellowjackets held onto seventeenth place taking five strokes off their opening round 381 to shoot 376 for a combined 757.

Emily Kvinta of St. Edward’s University stayed atop the leader board taking the win with rounds of 72 and a six-over 78 for 150.  Marcie Hopson from Grand Canyon broke away from Monday’s four-way tie for third to take second with a 77 and two-over par 74 for a 151.  Wrapping up the third spot was Jessica Harbin from St. Mary’s University.  Harbin carded rounds of 78 and 76 for 154.  Amanda Anderson from St. Mary’s was second after day one but shot an 11-over par 83 in the final 18-holes to slide to sixth.

The Jackets’ Amy Nordeen (Hamilton, MT) moved up from seventieth to a tie for fifty-fourth with rounds of 95 and 84 for 179.  Halley Montalban (Billings, MT) slid seven spots to finish in a tie for sixtieth carding rounds of 89 and 93 for a 182.  Emily Maag (Colstrip, MT) withdrew due to illness after posting a first day round 91.

The Yellowjackets will compete at the Pepsi Lion Invitational hosted by Texas A&M – Commerce in Pottsboro, Texas March 19 and 20.
