BILLINGS, MT –Montana State-Billings men’s soccer player Sam Charles was named the Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the week of September 25 through October 1.  The award is Charles’s first of the year and the program’s fifth.

Charles, a freshman forward from Chiswell, England aided his team in back-to-back wins for the Yellowjackets last week scoring three goals and an assist.  In a neutral site game against College of the Southwest, Charles scored one goal en route to the teams 5-1 win.  In Saturday’s 4-0 shutout victory over visiting Colorado Christian, Charles scored two goals and an assist.  He leads the Jacket offense with six goals on the season.

October 6-8 will feature three games at College of Technology Field.  On Friday, the Yellowjackets will play University of Mary (1-8-1) at 3:30 p.m.  Mary will then play a neutral game on Saturday against Metro State College (7-4-1) with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m.  The weekend will wrap up with the Yellowjackets playing Metro on Sunday, also at 1:00 p.m.
