MSUB Amends Men’s Basketball Penalties (11/28/06)

BILLINGS, MT – After communicating with the NCAA, Montana State-Billings has amended its previous declaration of ineligibility for four men’s basketball players that were dismissed from the program last week.

Last week, MSU Billings announced that Drew Arnold, Eric Cunningham, Russell Steplight, and Colby Sedlar would be declared ineligible for NCAA competition for the 2006-2007 season and would be required to apply to the NCAA individually to have their eligibility reinstated.  The university has amended that announcement based on interpretations from NCAA staff.  The four have instead been declared ineligible to compete for MSU Billings for the 2006-2007 season and may appeal directly to the university for reinstatement of their eligibility.  They are permitted to compete for another NCAA institution without filing an appeal.
