Larson Shares Lead at Rocky Invite (9/26/05)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana State-Billings
sophomore Nicholas Larson shot a second round 66 Monday to
take a share of the lead at the Rocky Mountain College
Invitational. The tournament concludes Tuesday at the
Peter Yegan Golf Course in Billings.
Larson (Riverton, WY) and Rocky
Mountain’s Jared Atkins share the lead at 6-under par
136. Both golfers carded identical rounds of 70 and 66 on
the par-71 course. The Yellowjackets sit in third in the
overall team standings, 14 strokes behind leader
Lewis-Clark State.
On the ladies’ side, the Jackets’
Halley Montalban sits in third place with a two round
total of 159. The sophomore from Billings shot rounds of
83 and 76. Montalban is 11 strokes off the lead entering
Tuesday’s final round. Rocky Mountain’s Rachel Warren is
the individual leader with two rounds of 74. The
Yellowjackets are in fourth place in the team standings.
