Four Yellowjackets Earn All-Region Honors (May 17, 2005)

BILLINGS, MT – Four Montana State-Billings softball players have been named to the NFCA/Louisville Slugger All-West Region Team in voting by the region’s coaches.  First baseman Rachel Quanburg and designated hitter Theresa Campbell were named to the all-region first team.  Pitcher Joey Ehnes and shortstop Cami Rainey earned second team honors.  All four players were first team All-PacWest selections.

Quarnburg, a sophomore from Billings, Mont. was in her first year as a Yellowjacket.  The transfer from Colorado State-Pueblo led the team and the conference with a .463 batting average.  She drove in a school record 44 RBI and hit seven home runs with a .664 slugging percentage.

Campbell, a senior from Great Falls, Mont., batted .374 and drove in 42 RBI.  Her 15 home runs set a school single season record and tied the PacWest Conference single season mark.  She also set a school record with a .772 slugging percentage.

Ehnes, a senior from Great Falls, Mont., set every Yellowjacket pitching record for a game, season and career.  She was 29-11 with a 1.48 ERA this year and also earned NCAA West Region All-Tournament accolades.  Ehnes fanned a school record 303 batters in 245 innings.  She also had her best year at the plate hitting .386 with 43 runs scored.

Rainey, a senior from Terreton, Idaho, joined Quarnburg as the only two players to hit over .400 for a season.  She batted .409 and scored a school record 47 runs.  She also drove in 30 RBI from her leadoff spot, hitting 20 doubles and six home runs for a .643 slugging percentage.
